After the second Test match in Kanpur, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli showcased his Bengali skills when he received a special gift from Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Miraz presented Kohli with a bat from his company, prompting Kohli to respond in Bengali, saying, “Khoob bhalo achi,” which means “it’s very good.” He smiled as he expressed his appreciation, adding, “Wish you all the best. Keep doing the good work.”
Earlier in the day, Miraz had also gifted a bat to Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who was equally pleased with the gesture. Rohit praised Miraz, noting their long-standing relationship and expressing pride in Miraz’s entrepreneurial venture. “I know Mehidy from a long time. He is a very good cricketer. I am very proud of him that he has started his own bat company along with some of his friends,” Rohit remarked. He wished Miraz success, stating, “May God give him all the success. And I hope this company will rise above everyone else.”

Shakib recently announced that the upcoming series against South Africa might be his last on home soil, contingent on whether he is given the opportunity to play. He mentioned that if not, the series against India could serve as his farewell. In a pre-match press conference, he explained his thoughts on his Test career, stating, “I am available for the South Africa series, but since there’s a lot happening back home, not everything depends on me. I have discussed my plans for Test cricket with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), particularly regarding this series and the home series.”
Shakib expressed his desire to have his last Test match in Mirpur, should the opportunity arise. He emphasized the importance of feeling safe while playing in Bangladesh, stating, “I shouldn’t have any problem going back to Bangladesh. My concern is my safety and security in Bangladesh. My close friends and family members are concerned. I hope things are getting better. There should be a solution to it.”
