The 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL) player auction will take place in Bengaluru on December 15, with the tournament scheduled to begin in the first week of February 2025. The auction will feature a purse of INR 15 crore per franchise, an increase from the previous season’s INR 13.5 crore. Each team can fill 19 slots, including five for overseas players. The auction will see capped players listed with base prices of INR 30 lakh, INR 40 lakh, and INR 50 lakh, while uncapped players will have base prices of INR 10 lakh and INR 20 lakh.The WPL 2025 auction will be held in Bengaluru on December 15, with the season starting in February.
The Gujarat Giants, who finished at the bottom of the points table in the first two seasons, have the largest auction purse of INR 4.4 crore. The defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), have a purse of INR 3.25 crore, while UP Warriorz will enter with INR 3.9 crore. Delhi Capitals, two-time runners-up, have INR 2.5 crore, and 2023 winners Mumbai Indians have INR 2.65 crore for the auction.The WPL 2025 auction will be held in Bengaluru on December 15, with the season starting in February.
The 2025 season is expected to finish by March, and while the tournament’s venue model is yet to be confirmed, the past two seasons were played across multiple cities. From 2026, the WPL will shift to the January-February window due to the ICC Women’s Future Tours Programme.
