Rohit Sharma has faced a significant drop in the ICC Test batting rankings, now sitting at his lowest position since December 2018. This decline marks his lowest ranking in almost six years. Previously, Sharma had dropped to 44th after scoring 63 not out and just 5 runs in a match against Australia in Melbourne in December 2018. Between February 27, 2021, and February 21, 2023, Sharma consistently featured in the top ten, even achieving a career-best rating of 813 and ranking as the fifth-best Test batsman in the world by September 2021.
