Samit Dravid, son of former India captain and coach Rahul Dravid, has been selected for the India U-19 squad for the upcoming series against Australia. Samit will participate in both the one-day and four-day series, which include three 50-over matches and two four-day games, scheduled in Puducherry and Chennai, respectively. The one-day matches will be played on September 21, 23, and 26 in Puducherry, with Uttar Pradesh’s Mohammad Amaan leading the team. The four-day matches will take place in Chennai starting on September 30 and October 7, with Madhya Pradesh’s Soham Patwardhan as captain.

Samit, a pace-bowling all-rounder, is currently playing for Mysore Warriors in the KSCA Maharaja T20 trophy in Bengaluru, but his performance with the bat has been modest, scoring 82 runs in seven innings with a top score of 33, and he has yet to bowl in the tournament. However, earlier this year, Samit made a significant impact in the Cooch Behar Trophy, contributing to Karnataka’s first title win in the event. The 18-year-old scored 362 runs across eight matches, including a notable 98 against Jammu and Kashmir, and took 16 wickets, including two in the final against Mumbai.
