PCB reacts to Pakistan’s omission from the Champions Trophy 2025 logo

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has conveyed its dissatisfaction to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the exclusion of Pakistan’s name from the Champions Trophy 2025 logo displayed during the live broadcast of the India vs Bangladesh match. The game took place in Dubai on Thursday as part of the ongoing tournament. PCB reacts to Pakistan’s omission from the Champions Trophy 2025 logo.

According to PCB sources, the ICC acknowledged the mistake and assured the board that the official three-line horizontal logo, which includes Pakistan’s name, will be used in all matches played in Dubai. This is the same broadcast graphic that was shown during the matches hosted in Karachi on February 19 and 21.

A PCB source confirmed to PTI, stating, “Yes, PCB has formally communicated with the ICC, and the governing body has assured that the three-line horizontal logo, including Pakistan’s name, will be used for all matches in Dubai, just as it was for Karachi fixtures.” PCB reacts to Pakistan’s omission from the Champions Trophy 2025 logo.

It has been reported that the ICC has informally told PCB that the issue arose due to a technical error.

During the India-Bangladesh match, the broadcast logo displayed in the top left corner of the screen only featured the event name, “Champions Trophy 2025,” without mentioning Pakistan, the host nation. The omission caught attention as the tournament is set to be held in Pakistan, and such exclusions could lead to unnecessary controversy.

India secured a comfortable six-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the match, which marked their first appearance in the eight-team competition.

The graphics used in the live broadcast are prepared and managed by the UK-based production company Sunset & Vine, working under the supervision of the ICC. These visuals are created well in advance and provided as part of the live feed for all tournament matches.

The issue gained prominence ahead of the much-anticipated Champions Trophy encounter between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, scheduled to take place in Dubai on Sunday. PCB reacts to Pakistan’s omission from the Champions Trophy 2025 logo.

The PCB’s swift response highlights its firm stance on ensuring proper representation of Pakistan as the tournament host. Given that India is playing all its matches in Dubai under the agreed hybrid model, PCB is keen to ensure that such discrepancies do not recur in future broadcasts.

The ICC’s assurance to rectify the issue in upcoming matches suggests that the matter has been addressed, but the incident has already sparked discussions among cricket fans and analysts regarding the sensitivity of such omissions in high-profile tournaments.
