In the 2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, Saifuddin emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Shinepukur Cricket Club, amassing an impressive tally of 14 dismissals in just 10 matches. His knack for dismantling opposition lineups showcased his burgeoning talent as a bowler.

April 2018 witnessed Saifuddin’s maiden century in first-class cricket. He remained unbeaten with a sublime 100 not out while representing East Zone in the final round of the 2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League, underscoring his prowess as a genuine all-rounder.

Saifuddin’s international journey began in April 2017 when he was named in Bangladesh’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Sri Lanka. His T20I debut against Sri Lanka on April 4, 2017, marked the beginning of a promising international career.
