Ex-India star criticizes Gautam Gambhir’s coaching record, calling the verdict on it “unfair.”

Ajay Jadeja has defended Gautam Gambhir, India’s head coach, from the criticism following the team’s 0-3 loss to New Zealand. Jadeja argued that it is “unfair” to judge Gambhir’s coaching abilities so soon after his appointment, given the short time he has been in the role. Gambhir, who took over from Rahul Dravid in July, started his tenure with a win against Sri Lanka but struggled against New Zealand and faced scrutiny after India’s poor performance. Jadeja emphasized that coaching results should not be judged within such a short span, suggesting that people need more time to assess a coach’s impact.Ex-India star criticizes Gautam Gambhir’s coaching record, calling the verdict on it “unfair.”

Jadeja, who enjoyed a successful career with over 5000 runs in 196 ODIs, also pointed out that judging a coach based on one or two performances is not reasonable. He stated that it’s important to enjoy Gambhir’s leadership style and allow time for him to make an impact. Jadeja also reminded people that Gambhir has always been clear about his approach and is now doing exactly what people expected of him.Ex-India star criticizes Gautam Gambhir’s coaching record, calling the verdict on it “unfair.”

The former cricketer also highlighted India’s massive 295-run victory against Australia in the first Border-Gavaskar Test as a morale booster after the loss to New Zealand. Jadeja believes that Gambhir should not be judged negatively within just six months of taking over, as there are always ups and downs in any team’s performance.Ex-India star criticizes Gautam Gambhir’s coaching record, calling the verdict on it “unfair.”

Jadeja added that the return of regular Test captain Rohit Sharma for the second Test in Adelaide would boost India’s confidence. He praised Rohit as a leader who steps up during challenging times and can continue leading when things improve. When asked about the batting order, Jadeja refrained from commenting on whether KL Rahul should continue opening or move to one-down after his strong performance in Perth. He expressed that Rohit Sharma has been an asset to the team in any batting position.
