Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old batter from Bihar, made headlines after being purchased by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 1.1 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction. He became the youngest player ever to register for the IPL auction. However, in his debut match at the U19 Asia Cup against Pakistan, Suryavanshi failed to live up to the immense expectations surrounding him. Despite the setback in his maiden U19 Asia Cup appearance, Suryavanshi remained focused on his cricketing journey. Ahead of the match, he shared his admiration for West Indies cricket legend Brian Lara, describing him as his idol. He expressed that he tries to model his game after Lara while keeping his skills natural and focusing on improving them. Before his U19 Asia Cup debut, Suryavanshi had already made waves in Indian domestic cricket. He made his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024, at the age of just 12 years and 284 days. Last month, he also impressed in a match against Australia, scoring a rapid century off 58 balls.
